It's a Wrap: IBM InterConnect 2017 & Remedi Customer User Group

Last week the Remedi team wrapped up another great show at the annual IBM InterConnect Conference in Las Vegas.  The Remedi team had a busy week connecting with Remedi clients and prospects, IBM team reps, and executives.  A few highlights from the week included the Keynote Event speakers with Ginni Rometty & Will Smith, all the great IBM and customer led B2B sessions, and even the end of week wrap up event with the Zac Brown Band concert.  The entire week was extremely informative and fun.

Modernizing EDI, Why Now?

Every business has its reasons to modernize their EDI environment or to wait. I first joined Remedi in 2005. Since then, as an account manager, I have supported and sold EDI/integration solutions to many clients. The majority of these clients are IBM Sterling customers using a version of Gentran or Sterling B2B Integrator. Some of these legacy Gentran accounts have been using Gentran for 25 years and counting. So why haven’t these legacy Gentran users upgraded or modernized?

Unified Visibility & Analytics for B2B Integration

Last month Remedi in partnership with IBM hosted a 30 minute webinar “coffee break” focusing on the new version of IBM’s Control Center 6.1 visibility software solution.  The coffee break was well attended and we received great interaction and questions from out attendees.  Visibility into data is definitely a hot topic in the minds of our clients, especially with B2B Integration and EDI.  I’m sure this is why our 30 minute webinar was so well attended.  Now that a month or so has passed, I wanted to highlight a few of the talking points covered in the new version of Control Center 6.1.

Authorized, Certified, Accredited, What Does It All Mean?

Authorized Dealers (e.g. watches), Certified Developers (e.g. WebMethods), Certified Pre-Owned (e.g. cars), Accredited Financial Advisors, Certified Personal Trainers…these are all people or things that have been authenticated as “fit for use” to some standard by some organization.  But what is the importance of this authentication?  In some circles or industries this authentication and the standards involved are highly valued, and in other instances it may be valued but other criterion might also be considered before buying a product or service.
